Festival of Fashion and Tourism
In the days of May, Tula became the fashion capital of the province of Russia – from May 26 to May 28, the final events of the XV. International Festival of Design, Fashion and Crafts “Provincial Style”. One can safely add the status of “tourism festival” to the name of the project: these days Tula was visited by designers from 7 countries and 34 regions of Russia. They not only got acquainted with Tula antiques and sights from the Weapons Museum to Yasnaya Polyana and took local souvenirs, but also presented the Tula people with a big fashion show and their products. A total of 149 fashion designers, 186 fashion demonstrators, representatives of fashion theaters and children’s groups visited Tula these days. More than 500 guests from different regions of Russia – Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Kursk, Yelets, etc.
First time in Tula
Tula for the first time hosted a large fashion forum, but it is not a novice in the implementation of such projects – for eleven years the city hosted the semifinals of the “Provincial Style”. During this period, the organizers – the Tula College of Professional Technologies and Service (director Sergey Kurdyumov) – managed to prepare a team of organizational managers and rally partners around themselves, to convince the regional government and the founder of the festival (Voronezh House of Designers)) that they could organize the finale of the festival at the highest level. With the support of the government of the Tula region and the Ministry of Education, the festival was held very well and became a real fashion holiday. As a result, as a successful fashion manager, Sergey Kurdyumov was recommended for admission to the National Academy of the Fashion Industry.
The legendary Vyacheslav Zaitsev
For the first time, the patriarch of Russian fashion Vyacheslav Zaitsev, who headed the Expert Council of “Provincial Style” for the tenth time, also visited Tula. Tula charmed the master of Russian fashion with her extravagant beauty, warmth and hospitality. Vyacheslav Zaitsev opened the festival, appreciated all the collections, presented the winner with the main prize and went “to the people” – to the participants, guests and spectators of the festival. He talked a lot and took photos. Vyacheslav Mikhailovich did not refuse anyone and was photographed with more than 2 thousand people. The Tula people were fascinated by Vyacheslav Zaitsev, and Zaitsev himself, in the figurative expression of one of the journalists, conquered Tula, because all other heights were already conquered by them in titles, awards and prizes.
With Vyacheslav Zaitsev, the competitive exhibition was evaluated by the designers who became winners of the “Provincial Style” in different years, as well as industrialists and organizers of fashion projects – representatives of different schools and regions, who made it possible to avoid tastes and judge objectively. The jury consisted of experts from China, Belarus and many Russian cities: Vologda, Voronezh, Kostroma, Kursk, Moscow, Petersburg, Tula, Yaroslavl, including five academics from the National Academy of the Fashion Industry. Another NAIM academic – photographer Dmitry Babushkin – evaluated the works through the lens of a camera, his Internet portal “Intermod” was the general information partner of the festival. Among the experts were Elena Kiprovskaya (director of the Department of Education) and Natalia Pilyus (State Duma deputy).
In the largest shopping and entertainment center of Tula – “Maxi” – a catwalk was built for the parades. Fashion experts and demanding Tula viewers, who gathered more than three thousand people, received 110 clothing collections. Models from Tula (agency “Gold Models”), Voronezh (agency “MODELS”), Lipetsk, Petersburg, Kursk and other cities took part in the show. All conditions for normal work were provided for designers and models. The project partners, the company “Confectionergrad” (Tula), “Belyovskie Sweets” (Belyov) and the confectionery factory “Knyazev” (Voronezh) presented their products to all participants. Thanks to the support of the Tula companies Vista, Estelle Center, Verbena-Tula, Moscow Industrial Bank, Beauty Industry, Aurora, Sam Sebe Couturier, Klumba, Cardinal is an official dealer of Mercedes-Benz “, Restaurant” Respect “,In the hotel “Royal” and the Company “Mannequin-PRO” (Shakhty) held the festival at the highest level.
The absolute winner of the festival, the winner of the Grand Prix (a cash award from the Kostroma designer Anastasia Barsukova and a nomination for the national award of the fashion industry “Golden Spindle”) was Alexei Mikhailov with the collection “City Dude”. This is the second victory of Aleksey in “Provincial Style”, before that Yulia Kukhol (2006, 2007) and Ekaterina Rebezha (2008, 2009) became two-time winners. The first places in eight nominations were won by: Inna Abdullaeva (Pyatigorsk) – her collection “My grandmother is whitewashing the walls” will be presented at the “Russian Silhouette” competition (“Provincial style” has been a selection reason for this prestigious Russian competition for 13 years), Ekaterina Li (Ust-Labinsk) – Collection “Obrenie”, Sophia Korol (Krasnoyarsk) – “Against All”, Zhong Chen-Xu (China) – “Autumn Poem”, Alena Sitnikova (Kursk) – “The Story of a Fashionable Goat “, Daria Biryukova (Voronezh) – “Snow in May”, Julia Badakova and Elena Pyankova (Chelyabinsk) – “The smell of a woman”, Irina Petryuk and Olga Zevakina (Volgograd) – “Garden of Eden”, Kalambina Fashion Studio (Ivanovo) – ” Suzhena – Harnessed”, sewing school “Platinum Thimble” (Voronezh) – collection “The Taming of the Shrew”.
The Gubernsky Style Festival is a kind of creative, professional and social boost for young fashion designers. Many of them remain in the profession, run small and micro businesses – they produce and sell designer clothes. For her, the creators of the festival are organizing a new project – “Provincial Style – Fashion Pro”. It will take place from September 29 to October 1 in Voronezh in the city park “Grad” and has an unusual design market format: a symbiosis of a showroom (sales exhibitions) and a professional runway show in the fashion week format. In the millionth city of Voronezh, there are many consumers of designer fashion. Organizers expect at least 7,000 people to visit the Gubernsky Style website to ensure good sales and brand promotion. The design market will be held under the motto “Fashion for Russian”. At the gala on September 30, the legendary Vyacheslav Mikhailovich and the brutal Yegor Vyacheslavovich Zaitsevs will be present.
